MMMM CHOCOLATE!

Sometimes I think with the crazy stories I have that people will think I do not watch my children....trust me I do haahha.

Today was such a day. This afternoon I told the kids we were going to go walk up to the big tree that is across the street. You would have thought I told them we were going to disneyland! I think cabin fever has set in...we have spent a lot of time at home since Christmas...kindof a slow time for homeschool field trips with everyone visiting with family...enjoying Christmas. I've been liking staying at home and have let the hubby just drive to work. (normally we drive him to work...so we can do our thing ) ANYWAY. A~man was trying to get ready...but kept trying to go sockless...(it's COLD!) Finally exasperated he exclaimed - STOP HARASKING ME! (harassing + asking= harasking) Oh I was literally ROTFL! I love moments like that...during a difficult moment...where something happens that breaks the tension and we are all laughing!

Oh ...but the chocolate. I love chocolate have I ever mentioned that? but we do our best to eat it without A~man seeing...and keep it up. SOMEHOW...somehow though........ it was bedtime and Z was in A's room and came out exclaiming that wet brown stuff was coming out from around his bed. Now a few of you may know some brown issues I have dealt with over the years....but not so much the last few years...but THAT was the first thing I thought of. That was the first thing the hubby thought of. After careful examination...I smelled chocolate. The only thing at that point I could think of was Z's ovaltine...she only drinks milk with ovaltine in it and I figured he grabbed it out of the kitchen. But no...I found the ovaltine safe in the cupboard. It took awhile but A~man brought me a container of Hershey's unsweetened (bleh) cocoa...he had gotten a glass of water (I SAW him do it) brought it to his room and put the cocoa in it...then the cup fell over behind his huge captains style heavier than mt rushmore bed. The liquid was all around. Through it all I kept my cool...I only said (calmly) A~ I am NOT HAPPY. I brought him towels to clean it up and left before I could explode. For whatever reason he picked every single thing off his floor???? and a bit ago I noticed SOMEHOW he had taken his full size mattress off his bed and was sleeping on it on the floor??!! Taking this mattress off is no small feat...his bed has a bit of an edge...I would have hurt myself doing it..but he was fine...and did it quietly. I still can't figure out why he did all thaty..maybe guilt? I'm going to have to move that honkin' bed frame somehow and steam clean all the chocolate water up.

It's all good though....I see God smiling down on me saying "I knew she could handle it."

  3. See that was what I was thinking. BUT I asked him and he said it was really good...lol. I'm not going to be able to do the carpets till hubbys day off...so he can help move the bed. The good thing is it shouldn't be as nasty of a mess to clean up as it had no sugar or milk...

  4. Hi Over Yonder. I'm so amazed at your good attitude. Kudos to you! I guess there just a new challenge every day for you. On my 'bad' days, I should just drop over here and find out how 'not bad' they really are. LOL! Gosh..the kids haven't done things like that for years. It reminds that I'm glad they are all grown up now. (almost)

I wanted to bring you my reply to your last comment and am posting it here.

    Love,
    Donna

    RE: De-cluttering
That's so great Over Yonder! I'm impressed and totally proud of you :o). BTW, I have such an exciting little idea that got me started de-cluttering in a new way when I had just about completely bogged down with the process. I think it will totally revolutionize the process for me. I'm not sure if I can keep it to myself until Monday. It may not work for everyone, but it sure is working for me!

Don't you just love getting rid of stuff?! It's so freeing!

  5. Oh my! Good for you for staying so calm! I'm convinced it's that split second decision to walk away that saves us our sanity during moments like that. This is why I'd love a house with NO carpet!
I love the harasking comment too! I can't tell you how many times I've had to turn around to hide my face while I laughed at something my daughter said when I was trying to be serious :)

  6. Two chuckles in one post:) I will have to remember "harasking", and I can definitely sympathize with the need for chocolate... I guess it can be chalked up to a teachable moment:) Hopefully next time he doesn't get the sugar too!

And yes, you should be able to find burlap at the fabric store and it is inexpensive to boot:) Thanks for stopping by My Everyday Graces today!
